Greetings and Happy Holidays to Everyone,
Hope everyone is happy and healthy! We’re finally having weather we can enjoy—not too hot, not too cold. I’m digging it! Perfect weather for taking your beloved Oldsmobile out for a nice cruise. You know it puts a smile on a lot of faces when people see you go cruising by and I know you see a lot of thumbs up, heck, that’s way better than seeing angry motorists showing you the other finger! Put a few miles on that baby, it’s good for you and the car.
Speaking of putting a few miles on, there were a handful of members enjoying the weather and friends at our last club outing. The Field of Dreams Car Show and Swap Meet had plenty for everyone to do. There were plenty of beautiful show cars including about 9 or so Oldsmobiles. All kinds of vendors were showing and selling their wares along with about 5 or 6 rows of swap meet vendors, live music and a DJ. All in all, it was a very nice outing. And the best part, the Show benefitted the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital. I love it when there is a great charity benefitting from everyone having a good time! It’s a Win, Win! We had a good Club meeting, I like to drag in other Oldsmobile attendees that are not Club Members to attend the meeting, they get to learn a little about the Club and sometimes they join up! The main topic for me was recognizing the great volunteers at the BOPC! Y’all Kicked Butt! The show was a huge success, and we couldn’t have done it without our amazing members. Thanks to everyone who pitched in to help out!
Our NEXT Club Meeting will be on Saturday, December 14th from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. “Gasparilla Cars in the Park” located at Carrollwood Village Park at 4680 West Village Drive, Tampa. GASPARILLACONCOURS.COM/CARS-IN/THE-PARK Preregister ASAP. $25.00 day of show. There will be a very nice goody bag while they last. I am bringing my tent and a couple of tables that will be decorated by the promoter. It sounds like there will be plenty to do. Bring your lawn chairs…. I will be arriving early (7:00) to secure our spot. Santa (Pat Higgins) will be in attendance! Please try to make it. This show benefits Champions for Children. We will be electing Club Officers at this meeting, please consider running for the position of your dreams!
The Board will be meeting to discuss future meetings. River Ranch was mentioned for January, but it’s not set in stone. If you have any suggestions, please contact a board member. Remember this is everyone’s Club so don’t be shy about voicing your opinion about a future event, we welcome your feedback!
