Greetings Fellow Club Member

Hope everyone is doing well. It’s been a rollercoaster of weather conditions here in central Florida lately. We’ve gone from the 80’s to the mid 30’s within the span of a couple weeks and now they are saying we’ll be in the upper 80’s again in a couple of days! That’s the type of craziness that gets people sick! I’d like to just settle for the mid 70’s year-round, but I know that only happens in fantasy land…

On February 17th our Monthly Meeting will be held in Ocala at the home of Don & Donna McCullen. Don & Donna graciously invited us to see their amazing collection of beautiful cars. I’ve never been there but I’m told we’ll be in for a treat! I’m really looking forward to it and hope to see a good crowd there! Please be there by 11:00am. The address is 9475 N.W. Highway 225, Ocala. We will view the collection, have a Club Meeting and jump in our Oldsmobiles to go to lunch at a local restaurant. Looking forward to seeing you there!

March 16th 9am-1pm, 2nd Annual Classic Car Show at the Crossing Church, 24009 E. College Ave, Ruskin. $10.00 registration fee on site only for show vehicles, free admission with canned food items. There will be some trophies. This show benefits Metropolitan Ministries. Food trucks on site. OCF members meet by the registration table at 11:00 am to get together for a Club Meeting. I’m unfamiliar with this event. I’ve started an immediate investigation and spoke to the promoter of the show and was told it’s a large facility and we should be able to gather somewhere for our meeting. I also found out there will be 30 or so vendors and a DJ.
Sounds like a good time will be had. Afterwards, those who don’t eat at the show can get together at a local restaurant and throw on the feedbag!

We had planned to attend the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranch Open House in March, but it has been postponed due to renovations at the facility. I hope to get a new date for that event, but as of now nothing has been determined. We will look for another event to fill the void and as soon as we do it will be passed on to our Membership.

April 6th Oldsmar Days & Nights Parade and Oldsmobile only car show! It will be here before we know it. Don’t hesitate, get your parade application in soon. A copy can be found in the newsletter or go to www.myoldsmar.com. And do it online. Cars planning on being in the parade should be in line by 10:00am. We need Olds convertibles to carry Dignitaries in the parade, so let’s get Ol’ Betsy running good and show her off to thousands of people! Any Oldsmobile is welcome to join in the parade, not just the “drop tops”, and let’s follow it up with a great car show! There will be plenty of vendors and live music on stage so let’s get together and whoop it up! We will also meet under the pavilion at 1:00pm for a brief Club Meeting. Following the meeting, anyone who would like to cruise somewhere for lunch, we’ll load up and go chow down. I’m trying to get confirmation on having the Oldsmar Historical Society open the Museum that afternoon for some period of time. When and if I get conformation, we will get notice out.

May 4th, Hickory Point Park, Tavares, Members Only Show!

Cookout and Trophies! Details to be forthcoming! Don’t miss this one!

Hope to see you with those rockets fired up and pointed towards some events!
