What we do
The Olds Club of Florida is dedicated to Oldsmobile lovers and owners throughout Florida. We also have many members from outside the state who are part time Florida residents as well. Meetings happen from August through May about once each month in different locations around the state; we try to have this in conjunction with an historic or car-related activity.
Near the end of March each year the club participates in Oldsmar Days with the City of Oldsmar. Oldsmar was founded and designed by Ransom E. Olds—he also was the founder of Oldsmobile and REO. Members drive their vehicles in the city parade and participate in the non-judged ALL Oldsmobile Car Show.
On the 4th Saturday in October, OCF hosts the Annual BOPC (Buick, Oldsmobile, Pontiac, and Cadillac) Car Show and Swap Meet. This show benefits the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranch. We populate Downtown City Park in Auburndale with spectacular automobiles. Spectators are FREE; participants pay $25 and receive a Show t-shirt and are eligible for participant-judged awards.
Other meetings and events are publicized and promoted in our monthly newsletter, Classic Olds Journal. COJ is distributed to members by email and contains interesting news and articles pertaining to Oldsmobiles and club members.
We would love for you to join us. Yearly dues are $30 and are collected in January.
A little History
The Olds Club of Florida was founded in 1995. It took ten signatures, a set of by-laws, a small amount of money and about four months for OCF to qualify and receive its charter as the 42nd chapter of the Oldsmobile Club of America. In the early years, monthly meetings were held around the state at local Oldsmobile dealers. All that changed when Oldsmobile stopped production in 2004. Now we move the meetings around often searching for locations that have a car show or automotive or historic collection and a nearby restaurant that we can enjoy together.
